Virtuosi Racing are delighted to announce 15-year-old British racer Edward Pearson for the team’s debut season in the FIA British Formula 4 Championship.
Hailing from Guildford, Surrey, Pearson enjoyed a successful karting career, racking up seven podium finishes, before making his debut in cars last year. Competing in the 2021 Ginetta Junior Championship, he ended the season on a high with a podium in the final race of the season at Brands Hatch.
Pearson will become Virtuosi Racing’s first F4 driver, following the team’s decision to expand into the FIA British F4 Championship after it was taken over by British motorsport governing body Motorsport UK from 2022, with the launch of a new car equalling the playing field.
The successful FIA Formula 2 team, who have finished as vice-champions in each of the last three seasons, will be working to emulate that success in F4 with Pearson.
On the signing, Virtuosi Racing’s F4 team boss Mark Salmon said: “We are delighted to welcome Edward Pearson into the Virtuosi Racing family. Edward competed in Ginetta Juniors last year where he showed great potential and gained a good knowledge of all the circuits on the 2022 British F4 race calendar. We are excited to get pre-season testing under way and looking forward to a strong season ahead."
Edward Pearson added: “I can’t really believe that I will be joining such a prestigious team as Virtuosi and can’t wait to get in the car as soon as possible!”
